So, I started taking Reglan and Nexium about a month ago and my pain has gone from a 10 to about a 1. Some days/times, there is no pain. I had an EGD (or EDG) done, where they stick a fiber optic cable down your throat and look for hiatal hernias in your stomach and I had a small one. Now, my doctor doesn’t think this hiatal hernia is the source of my pain, regardless that the Nexium and Reglan have all but resolved it, which is par for the course in my experience with doctors. Hiatal hernias are VERY common and most adults suffer from them. It’s definitely worth checking out. My life is much better now without that constant, dull ache. The only down side is that taking Reglan for too long can cause tics, so I have an appt on July 6 to talk to my doctor about what my options are. Do I have the small hernia operated on? Is that even an option? Is it too small? Please comment/write me with any questions or concerns!
